FR-Z 136 TRL dynamic conical Penetrator (DKP) is used to quickly determine the structural properties of road foundation and sub Foundation applications that have not been used as binding material in their construction.
The design of the device is similar to the DKP described by Kleyn, Maree and Savage (1982). The tapered tip at an angle of 60° works by lowering the 8 kg gavel from 575 mm. Standard DKP measurements can be made to a depth of 850 mm, this measurement depth can be increased to 2 meters with the extension shaft when needed.
Reading is done after a number of drops are made depending on the type of ground being studied. A typical experiment can be completed in minutes. As a result, information that can normally be obtained by opening an experimental pit can be obtained more quickly and safely using DKP. It allows for a greater number of measurements and data to be obtained in the field.
Penetration mallet set consists of 8 kg mallet, mallet guide, anvil (combined with plastic ruler fixing plate) and plastic handle.
