Explanation: Heat output occurs as a result of an exothermic reaction that occurs when Portland Cement is mixed with water. The heat generated by cement hydration increases the temperature of the concrete, and especially in conditions where the heat generated does not move away from the concrete, this temperature rise causes a change in the volume of the concrete that is hardening.

Imento calorimeter is used to determine hydration temperature in low-temperature portland cements. The device consists of a box, an electric mixer, a funnel and a high-resolution battery-powered electronic thermometer that provides thermal insulation to the Dewar thermos.
Calorimeter is supplied with resolution test certificate and data processing file in MS EXCEL format.
